Ok...so I haven't updated in a long time so I need to catch everyone up.
First, I have accepted a new job working at a country club in Nashville and I start tomorrow. God has been providing so much and I am so grateful for everything He has blessed me with lately. About my new job...I am going to be a server/hostess at Richland Country Club. I am very excited to start but also a little nervous because I have never served before. I know God will calm my nerves by tomorrow.
Next, some have you have gotten the chance to meet Jordan and I hope you all love him as much as I do because Jordan proposed to me October 9th at the Opryland Hotel. For those that don't know how he did it...Here's the story. Jordan's MeMe and her husband flew in from Houston on Friday and we went to dinner at Monell's in Franklin which was delicious by the way. Country style buffet...mmm mmm mmm!!! Anyway...after dinner they wanted to see the Hotel and so we headed off to go to Opryland Hotel. Jordan and I arrived before the rest of the family and as he drug me (literally) through the gardens and waterfalls of the hotel, to were he called "the perfect spot". Finally we arrived at the Fountain light show. It was so beautiful. There was about 25-35 people standing around these steps and I was watching in amazement. Jordan turned and looked at me and faced me toward him. He looked into my eyes and grabbed my hands and said " Lexi, I have prayed for you for so long and I still pray for you till this day. God put you in my life for a reason and I believe this reason is to make you my wife. I love you so much and have waited for this moment for a long time." I started to cry at this time because I knew what he was asking me. Then he got down on his knee and said " Will you marry me?" I said yes of course and I don't remember much after that moment. Lol. We have set a date so far and that date is.....October 16th, 2010. We have a whole year to plan so its pretty exciting.
On Saturday Jordan and I volunteered at the Nashville Rescue Mission. This really opened our eyes to how truly blessed we are. Some of these people feel there is no one out there to save them from drugs and addiction. Little do they know that there is only one that can save them and that's Jesus Christ. I wanted to reach out to them so badly. Little children were there with their mothers. Kids as young as 4 months old. I just pray for these people so much. I pray that they can believe that there is a saving grace out there. I also made some new friends. One I particularly enjoyed speaking with. Her name was Krystal and she was very sweet and kind. She was telling me she just got back from serving over in Switzerland and Germany. She spent two months over there and spent every last penny she had. She just told me these amazing stories about her encounters on the streets at night. I thought she was very brave and she was so full of spirit. We didn't get to talk to many of the people there at the Mission but a few came through and we cheerful just to be alive. Jordan and I are both going to start going to these more often and try to build relationships with these people.
I hope all is well with everyone. I want to come home so bad to see my family...mostly my niece that is growing waaaay too fast. It is very weird being the one that is so far from everyone. My family isn't just right down the road anymore. Its very sad. Miss you and love you all!!
