May 1st,2010...major Flood

So...The craziest thing I have ever experienced has just came through Nashville. This intense storm that just took my new hometown by storm. Saturday the rain started and it didn't stop until late Sunday night. At first I was ok about it all...then the water at the apartment started rising higher and higher. Finally when the water started getting close to Jordans doors of his truck...I decided it was time to move the cars. Our parking lot turned into a river carrying rocks, debris, and tons of water at full force behind it. After about 5 hours of seeing what was happening at our place...We decided to go check out the damage elsewhere. Well...this really upset me because I see tons of people swimming for cover and running around grabbing what all they could in a moments time. Soon after that...Rescue boats started unloading and this is when we decided it was time to take action. We found out that they were running short on food and water for the people that were being rescued. So a quick trip to Kroger fixed that. When we arrived back at Old Harding and Sawyer Brown which is now submerged and undrivable...we quickly ran down what we had and at that time we watched as they we carrying people out of the rescue boat. It was at this time I knew the Lord was tugging my heart to help these people and spread His. An amazing woman was not able to walk and needed medical attention. She had just had major surgery and was with her Mother and Father. An ambulance was nowhere to be found and the Fireman asked if anyone had a large backseat that could run her up the hill. I told Jordan to run and get my truck. So we run and bring the truck down and at this time her mother and father were up the hill. So we get her loaded in and race her up to her family. Her name is Kimberly. Jordan and I just kept telling her that everything was ok. Her family was right next to us and she needed to be examined. She was a soldier. She refused to leave her mom and dad and their family dog "angel". She had so much spirit even after losing her house to a flood. She was wearing a cross around her neck and we started to talk about God and how we all need to praise him in this storm. It was amazing. Nothing was quite like this feeling in my heart. I felt so happy. Jordan and I just kept smiling and laughing with her and she held her head high. I was very sad to drop them off at the shelter. I knew I would probably never see them again. All in all...Jordan and I loved doing a minor mission together. It was amazing to see all the devastation and realize that this is something so minor compaired to taking the nails! So I will praise through this storm....and Lift my hands....He is who He is...No matter where I am!!

Its already February!

Oh February! The month of romance! Lol. I am kicking off the first weekend of Feb. going home to see the family. It is awesome being able to see them once every 2 months. Lol. I need to realize once I am married I won't get the luxery to go home to see them family that often. So I am taking advantage of it now! The last few weeks have been super cold here in Nashvegas! We got 10 inches of snow on the 29th so we were snowed in for a couple of days but we still had a little fun with it. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the cold up here. Jordan and I have started to get back into wedding planning now. We are starting to pick out flowers and other dumb things. Lol. I am just ready to be married. We have less than 9 months now which is crazy. Time has gone by soooooo fast.

Leaving 2009 in the past, moving in to 2010!

This past year has been intense for the life of Lexi Jones. I started off 2009 living in a brand new city, having a great job, and loving life. January of 2009 was the most memorable time of my life. I gave my life to Christ at Kairos on a wonderful tuesday night. Since then, life has been filled with blessings in every way. Things have taken a turn for the best since turning my life of to God and I can't wait to thank Him in person one day. In April I met the boy I'm going to marry. Jordan is a true blessing from God. I never knew guys like him exsisted. A man that treats me like the princess that God has shaped me into. A man that lives for God himself and knows the true beauty in me. Also in April, Tre and Lauren broke the dreadful news to me that they were moving back to Florida. But I knew it was what God wanted for them. Then a precious gift from Him was Kylie Grace Jones! It was amazing to watch her grow in Lauren stomach and she is just perfect now. Then in October another amazing day i'll never forget was the day I got engaged to my amazing man of God. And that leaves me with the year that awaits me!! 2010!! The year of so many life changes!! I am excited and very anxious. I can not wait to see what blessings the Lord will bring me this year. He keeps providing everyday and it is just amazing to see how amazing and gracious He is. Happy New Year everyone. I wish you the best in the year to come. Love you all!!!
